Thanksgiving.

I just love when you make plans and they fall through, don't you? That is when you have to accept that you are not in control, GOD IS. This year had brought us many blessings along with some heart burns, but today we are not going to list the negative things. Even though our dinner with Grammy , Pa, Tyler, Ashley, and Ryler didn't work out because Avery got sick we still got to spend it as a family. We are thankful for our health, abilities, along with family and friends. We still enjoyed yummy food, and time together with the ones we love.

LOST: Jackson's first tooth.

Jackson lost his first tooth! A month or so ago Jackson cracked it and from there it started to loosen up. It unfortanely didn't come out on its own. I did the honors, now this is what he looks likes after losing his first tooth. And on his 6th birthday. It was a very special birthday surprise.

However he was a bit scared of having it pulled.

The Boy's Spiderific Birthday Bash.

Happy Birthday to our sweet boys! On the agenda another Room-Redo and a spider-rific party to celebrate 6 and 2. At the end of August Jackson and I had a conversation about his room. When I asked him what theme he wanted he said, "I want a SpiderMan Room". I was not fond of the idea at first. All I could think of was cheesy spiderman decals and bed spreads. Then I looked at the boys loft and that is when the vision came alive. At that moment I knew and could visualize the cobalt blue walls and the loft/closet as a sky scraper. I shared the vision with Mom and she became my partner in crime. All I knew was that the room had to look industrial and masculine. NO decals or cheesy bedspreads. Jackson and I had found at JcPenny online a really cute monogrammed bed a few years ago. Red happened to be his color choice. He constantly asked me "can I get the little red bed?" So for 2 years I was trying to figure out a way to implement this bed into a room theme for him... October arrived and the time was neigh to be more proactive about the materials/ furniture we would be using for their room. I decided to order both boys "little red beds". Finally their birthday weekend arrived. We shipped the kids off to Grammy and Pa's. Mom and Billy came in from SC to help us create the boys dream room. We started slow but made it to the finish line before 2:30(when the party started) . A few little details were left to finish, but for now this was our final product.....
Paint: Valspar-Cobalt blue (custom match from linen swatch) Lowes, Beds: JCPenny, Bedding: Walmart, Roman Shades: JCPenny, Rug: Walmart, Lamps: Walmart, Storage Unit: Unknown
Pictured above is the boys loft/closet that we transformed into a skyscraper/jail.
Paint: Valspar- Black, Fabric Curtains: Felt.

Table: Electrical wire spool from Lowes. Topped it with round wood, Stools: 5 gallon buckets, Boxes: Handmade by my Dad, Clock: K-Mart, Paper Lantern: came in a set of 3 from Walmart, Chalkboard: Old Frame we found in one of our old barns, and Chalkboard chalk from Lowes.

Peg Boards: Handmade by my Dad, Caution Tape: Lowes, Candle holders: Walmart.

Ceiling: Valspar Black; Stars- Valspar White, Fan: Spray painted with Valspar's Black Spray paint along with Metallic Silver.

Behind the scenes. Yes! I hand painted the stars one by one. I was only smiling for the picture. It was a very tedious job, and took about 45 minutes to cover the entire ceiling.

Now fast forward to the party. Grammy and Pa show up with the birthday boys along with sister Avery. Jackson was surprised to be greeted by his friends.

Jackson with his friend Kaycee (whom he has a bit of a crush on.)
Mr. Harrison

Their yummy cakes created by my talented sister. One for each birthday boy. They were soooo yummy.

Before we revealed the room we let the kids create their own super hero masks, and experiment at Peter Parkers Mad Science Lab by making goop.

After we cleaned the kids up we then journeyed inside to reveal the room. Jackson was in awe while Harrison didn't really know what to think.

After the kids jumped around and explored the room we went back outside and celebrated with cake and ice cream.

The last game we played was criminal wrap, where we used toilet paper to arrest the criminals. All the kids participated and had a bunch of laughs doing it.

happy 2.th Birthday!

Ok... So i'm officially getting old yet my wonderful husband took me out to dinner for a night of celebration. He still loves me even though I have a ton more wrinkles than I did last year.
